Dynamax History
Dynamax was founded in 1997 with a fresh perspective in RV design - to create an automotive style motorhome. That same year the curvaceous, Class C Motorhome Isata Touring Sedan rolled off the line with revolutionary radius curved sidewalls, an eye catching paint scheme and styling that flowed unlike anything else. The idea was simple. Start with a solidly engineered commercial truck chassis and concentrate on building a solidly engineered Motorhome on it. The resulting product was visually appealing and structurally cohesive, with aerodynamic RV properties that improved maneuverability for a better driving experience. Those first head turning motorhomes were available in 23 - 31 foot lengths. But that was only the beginning.
In 1999, the Isata Sport Class C Motorhome entered the marketplace to favorable reviews. This Class C was available in 23 - 29 foot lengths. Rapid growth precipitated a move from the original 50,000 square foot facility in July of 2000, to the state-of-the-art 135,000 square foot RV Manufacturing facility located on Northland Drive in Elkhart, Indiana.
In 2002, Dynamax expanded the hallmark radius curved sidewalls on the Isata Class C Motorhome Sport Sedan to produce one of the first slide out models in that market segment. That same year, Dynamax was ready to power up with the muscular, Grand Sport on the Freightliner FL-70 chassis. Success on the FL-70 chassis led to the release of Grand Sport Luxury Motor Coach on a Freightliner Columbia chassis in 2003. Dynamax's reputation for top notch workmanship and attention to engineering detail was rapidly gaining the attention of quality seekers everywhere, as requests for custom units began to pour in.
In 2005, DynaQuest Class C Motorhomes provided an impressive option blended with the body lines of a Freightliner M-2 chassis as an option for power loving mid-sized RV enthusiasts and weekend warriors. Customer demand for a Ford version of these highly maneuverable mid-sized RVs precipitated introduction of Isata F-Series built on a Ford F-550 chassis in 2006.
50,000 square feet of additional manufacturing capacity was added in 2007. On-site paint booths accommodated demand for the prestigious 7-step Dynamax paint process for all our motorhomes.
With the brand identity firmly established and a complete range of motorhomes in the mix, it was prime time to offer Fifth Wheel aficionados access to the Dynamax lifestyle, with the introduction of the DynaAire and the storage savvy DynaAire FoundationMax models in 2009.
In 2011 Dynamax was acquired by Forest River, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, one of the largest recreational vehicle manufacturers. By joining forces with Forest River, Inc, Dynamax has maintains a solid reputation with a strong recreational vehicle product line up and a series of custom Specialty Vehicles and RV's created to meet the lifestyle needs of individual customers.
